Customer Success Story
flydubai automated reconciliation workflows across 100+ GL accounts and 3,000 travel agencies covering 115+ scenarios

Founded in 2008, flydubai is a Dubai-based airline that has carried more than 137 million passengers since it began operations. With more than 6,700 colleagues from over 140 nationalities, flydubai has a global network across Africa, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Central and South-East Europe, the GCC and the Middle East, South Asia and South-East Asia.
Challenge
Reconciling close to 5 million monthly records across 90 source files with diverse data architectures
Having served more than 137 million passengers and with AED 13.6 billion in reported revenue in 2025, flydubai was dealing with increased volume and complexity in financial data and reconciliation processes. In order to expand its operations, the airline’s Finance team were looking for a more scalable and controlled approach to general ledger (GL) account reconciliations.
Before implementing Jedox, flydubai’s reconciliation processes were semi-automated or manual. Monthly reconciliation cycles and quarterly or monthly review cycles made it difficult to achieve the ultimate level of speed, visibility, and governance the business required.
To support its ambitious growth strategy, the airline sought opportunities to automate and streamline GL account reconciliations while strengthening controls and governance over the balance sheet. Additional requirements included the ability to quickly identify cash at risk or recovery opportunities and support growing transaction volumes across multiple reconciliation scenarios.
Overall, flydubai aimed to manage reconciliations across credit card and other payment methods, approximately 3,000 travel agency accounts, payroll reconciliations, and other Finance processes. The business also required a scalable framework capable of handling high transaction volumes and supporting future growth.
Solution
Jedox Platform adaptability powers customized reconciliation and control system (RACS)
flydubai partnered with Jedox to implement its reconciliation and control system (RACS), a centralized framework that automates and streamlines GL account reconciliations while strengthening financial controls and governance. This comes as part of its commitment to investing in digital best practices and enhancing its operational efficiencies.
The Jedox platform integrates data from more than 90 unique source files and processes approximately 5 million transactions per month, with the current infrastructure scalable to 10 million transactions.
The solution also supports more than 115 reconciliation scenarios and automates reconciliation workflows for 100 GL accounts. Through automated data preparation, validation, matching, reconciliation, and reporting processes, flydubai established a more standardized and controlled reconciliation environment.

The RACS includes seamless secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) integration, automated and ad-hoc data loading capabilities, dynamic reconciliation rules, automated reconciliation references, and comprehensive data transformation processes via the Jedox Integrator. Furthermore, the framework incorporates 50 different data sources and 15 transformation processes, including 20 prebuilt and three customized transformations.
Jedox also enabled extensive reporting and analysis capabilities through more than 35 reports that help business users validate reconciliations, analyze issues, and improve visibility into reconciliation outcomes and control processes.

Outcome
Strengthening governance across 5 million monthly transactions
With Jedox, flydubai enhanced its reconciliation processes from predominantly manual workflows into a more automated, scalable, and controlled environment.
The business improved reconciliation frequency from monthly cycles to daily reconciliation processes, enabling Finance teams to identify issues faster and improve operational responsiveness. Review cycles also became more structured, moving from quarterly or monthly reviews to consistent monthly reviews.
By significantly reducing manual tasks, flydubai minimized the inherent risks of errors and omissions associated with spreadsheet-driven processes. The organization also improved audit trail coverage from partial to comprehensive, supporting stronger governance and controls across balance sheet reconciliation activities.
Jedox provided the Finance team with greater visibility into reconciliation status and financial data. What was previously limited real-time visibility became a more feasible and scalable process supported by centralized reporting and automated workflows. Reporting capabilities also evolved from manually generated business intelligence outputs to summarized, structured reconciliation insights.
The RACS now serves as an enterprise-grade application with more than 100 functionalities and over 40 reports supporting reconciliation, reporting, governance, and control requirements. The scalable framework gives flydubai the ability to support growing transaction volumes and increasingly complex reconciliation scenarios while maintaining operational efficiency and financial oversight.
