Challenge

Revenue breakdowns by division for Nölle + Nordhorn

Nölle + Nordhorn needed deeper insights on the breakdown of revenues for its wholesale, project, and manufacturing divisions. The standard analyses from its SAP system did not deliver the necessary detail and building them in Excel was too complex and time-consuming. Therefore Nölle + Nordhorn has implemented a web and mobile solution for sales reporting and analysis with Jedox.

Nölle + Nordhorn now uses a highly scalable sales reporting and analysis solution

After screening the market, the finance team decided to extend its SAP system with a complementary BI solution from Jedox. The possibility to manage the entire reporting process within the finance department was the main reason for choosing the software.

Advanced Applications GmbH, a Jedox partner and SAP specialist, supported the implementation of Jedox as part of an SAP relaunch. The project team quickly built a detailed reporting system based on the Jedox Model “SAP – BI Ready to Run SD” and built up detailed reporting very quickly.

An important goal of the project was to provide various recipients easy web and mobile access to individual key figures outside the SAP system. For this purpose, the project team implemented a Jedox cloud solution for sales controlling, which is supplied with the required data from SAP. The internal SAP system now runs separate from the sales controlling system, which users access via the web according to centrally controlled rights regulations without burdening the company-wide production system.

Outcome

Optimized utilization of finance staff resources

With using Jedox a clearly arranged dashboard with evaluations of sales, DB1-invoices, incoming orders, offers, material and purchasing gives the management a daily updated overview of the development of the business areas. The field staffhave access to their individual, flexible data sections at any time, allowing for optimal preparation of their customer meetings. The finance department conveniently generates PDF reports at the touch of a button.

As a next step, the project team partially automated the extensive sales planning processes with the help of Jedox AIssisted™ Planning. The cloud application uses machine learning algorithms to generate default values based on historical SAP values. The sales representatives can adopt these plan values or adjust them
manually. With around 400 customers per sales employee planned in detail in various segments, this saves a considerable amount of time and reduces the workload for the planners, who can usually limit themselves to a more detailed review of their top 20 to 30 customers.

With the efficient, detailed planning and precise reporting, there is now an accurate basis for decision-making for different target groups. The increased quality of the reporting content also influences sales meetings, making them more efficient by having consistent figures from a single data source, so everyone in the meeting can discuss the same consistent, current data.

The system maintenance outsourced through cloud operation optimizes the use of internal human resources: instead of IT routines, the financial experts at Nölle + Nordhorn can now concentrate on more value-added tasks. And with increasing data volumes and new requirements, the cloud solution can be further scaled and tailored according to needs.
