Customer Success Story
75% faster year-end and compliance reporting for Carpet Call

Founded in 1975, Carpet Call is one of Australia’s most recognized and trusted flooring and window furnishing retailers. They operate from their headquarters in Notting Hill, Victoria, with over 130 company-owned and franchised stores and more than 500 employees across the country. Their products range from carpet, rugs, vinyl, and timber flooring to blinds and shutters.
Challenge
Manual processes threatened reporting integrity and reliability
Carpet Call is one of Australia’s most recognized flooring retailers, providing a wide offering from consultation to installation—making them a true end-to-end provider for both residential and commercial customers.
With a national footprint and a trusted brand, Carpet Call has built a reputation as a leader in their industry. Their business continues to scale—which also means increasing operational complexity.
The Finance team’s manual financial and ESG reporting processes couldn’t keep up with the pace of growth. Most of the team’s effort went into gathering, reconciling, and adjusting data—their month- and year-end reporting process spanned 14 Excel spreadsheets — which didn’t leave room for forward-looking analysis.
And because the data lived in so many places, there were delays, inconsistencies, and no source of truth for financial data. The labor-intensive and error-prone process threatened the integrity and reliability of their reports.
Carpet Call’s CFO and Company Secretary, Tim Bensley, explained, “We needed to overcome that, meet new compliance challenges, and be flexible for the business as it grows and changes.”
This growth extended toward their future with talent: retaining and attracting excellent Finance employees. Tim explained, “We also wanted to build toward an environment where employees want to work and can engage with modern technology.”
Solution
Create scalable financial processes to support company growth
Carpet Call chose Jedox as the solution to modernize their FP&A processes and quickly became operational with year-end, month-end, and ESG reporting. Tim said, “It’s user-friendly, so the time to implement it is short, and the investment is moderate.”
They began with automating year-end financial reporting. Jedox automatically collates and cleans data, while ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Its reporting features, like preconfigured templates and custom report formats, all based on a seamless, no-hands integration, immediately reduced Carpet Call’s manual reporting efforts.
Tim said, “Jedox is a very flexible tool. Its flexibility is a big reason it’s held in such high esteem. Jedox can help businesses meet whatever challenge they might have.”

Carpet Call’s Finance team also automated month-end close and began using dashboards. Automating reconciliations and dashboards gives Finance real-time visibility into performance by state, produce, area, and business unit.
Additionally, they use Jedox to comply with ESG reporting requirements. With Jedox’s ESG dashboard, they could get started fast, while adapting existing ESG models to the level of detail their situation required.
Outcome
Efficient, accurate reporting gets Carpet Call’s Finance team future-ready
Carpet Call’s new, scalable reporting process on Jedox is fast, clean, and reliable. Looking only at year-end close and compliance processes, Carpet Call has reduced their reporting period by 75%.
By using a consolidated platform, they’ve also reduced the number of spreadsheets involved from 14 to just one. The team is confident in the numbers. Reports now give real-time visibility, accuracy has improved, and the foundation is set for diver-based sales planning and future forecasting needs.
As Carpet Call modernizes their FP&A technology and the team replaces time spent on the data reconciliation with strategic business partnering, employee morale is growing. “The team is quite excited about our results and very enthusiastic about the future,” explained Tim.

Carpet Call’s efforts haven’t only been about solving today’s challenges, but also about building a foundation for long-term reliability, agility, and insight for Finance and beyond.
They’re continuing to implement Jedox in other areas of their business. Their next step is to rebuild the budgeting and forecasting processes. Tim said, “We’re looking towards the future with great enthusiasm as we move Jedox into more of a planning role with the forecast and budget.”
The team also plans to use Jedox to do more dashboard reporting and workforce planning. “Distributing Jedox throughout the business will help us manage the day-to-day operations better,” said Tim.
