Challenge

A painful, manual process in Excel

Before Jedox, Upstream’s team managed all its data manually in Excel, then uploaded it back into the previous solution as a database. The system was used primarily for reporting budget vs. actuals and variance analysis. With significant growth, Upstream also sought to improve its HR planning and incorporate insights from Salesforce data into its models.

With needs that are very different from traditional corporate budgeting, and the unique nature of their funding as a nonprofit organization, Upstream was concerned it wouldn’t find a solution adaptable enough to meet its needs. Flexible, unified planning for a growing nonprofit organization

After a full data cycle, the new workflows and data input forms improved the entire planning process and are now supporting data-driven decision-making. Leveraging four key source systems that included Paycom, Sage Intacct, Salesforce, and Excel, Upstream is now able to get a unified view of their data, accelerate the planning process, and increase access to analytics with transparency down to transaction-level details.

By alleviating manual consolidation and reporting processes, Upstream has created time and space for key decision-makers to review and interact with their data. This is driving more data-driven decision-making and alignment around goals and outcomes.
