David Upton, a Director at Naked Data, part of the Jedox partner network, talks about how Jedox technology is helping global spirits giant Bacardi improve its budgeting and planning.

Q: David, tell us about Bacardi and Jedox

A: Bacardi has chosen Jedox as its corporate performance management software provider in Asia. The competition was strong, as you’d imagine, and Jedox was picked over rivals SAP and Oracle. It’s a great achievement for Jedox.

Q: What do you think gave Jedox the edge?

A: Obviously, we can’t know for sure, but business intelligence needs to be fast, easy-to-use and accessible anywhere. Jedox ticks all these boxes. Our approach of truly empowering finance and business users and delivering effective results quickly is what sets us apart. For example: a competitor met with Bacardi 13 times without any outcome. We demonstrated compelling proof of our concept after our first meeting. That’s how we like to work: fast and tangible results.

Q: How is the project progressing?

A: Having picked Jedox technology, the finance and IT team at Bacardi has successfully rolled out a regional budgeting and planning consolidation model for a number of markets, including China, Thailand, South Korea, India, Taiwan and Japan.

Q: So, Jedox continues to expand in Asia?

A: That’s right. New markets are a major growth area for Jedox and the company is targeting expansion in Asia-Pacific. The Jedox Asia Roadshow played a key role in winning the Bacardi contract and we hope future events have the same success. Naked Data is an important growth engine for Jedox in the region and we’re looking forward to building its profile in Asia-Pacific.
