Managing growth in a high-stakes environment

As a long-standing leader in complex disability support, Nulsen Disability Services faced mounting operational challenges driven by the ever-evolving demands of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Shifting client needs, changing funding models, and compliance requirements under the SCHADS Award were straining internal systems and teams.

Core planning processes were fragmented—budgets lived in Excel, rosters were managed in Easy Employer, and forecasts were based on experience rather than data. This disjointed setup made it difficult to see the full financial picture, especially when assessing new clients or services.

Building a unified planning model with Jedox

To bring greater control and insight into their fast-changing environment, Nulsen Disability Services engaged bi5 Solutions (now part of performance management consultancy GK Horizons) to implement Jedox, a flexible enterprise performance management (EPM) platform tailored to the needs of complex care providers.

Working closely with Nulsen’s scheduling and operations teams, GK Horizons developed a custom solution using Jedox. This solution brought together financial, workforce, and operational data in a single source of truth (SSOT), giving Nulsen real-time visibility into staffing costs, service delivery, and funding alignment—capabilities that had previously required hours of manual effort across disconnected systems.

Jedox pulls roster data directly from Easy Employer, eliminating manual errors and enabling instant cost visibility at the house or resident level. Once integrated, data flows through automated compliance checks—flagging potential SCHADS Award breaches and claim mismatches before they reach audit stage.
