##################################### ### Palo Suite - Known Issues ### ##################################### ---------------------------- Version 3.2 SR3 - 06/17/2011 ---------------------------- 1. Palo OLAP Server * Special cases of /cell/export can lead to poor performance for aggregated / rule-based values (#4108, #6050) o workaround: all known client issues are addressed in 3.2; try split large export jobs into more smaller subjobs; try to split export by types numeric / text * /server/shutdown method currently only triggers shutdown event in Supervision-Server (#7222) ---------------------------- 2. Palo for Excel * If you have DATAC on the sheet, and automatic recalculation is turned on, the clipboard be empty after pasting its content for the first time. (#4704) o Workaround: disable automatic calculation * If you close Excel, then hit the "Cancel" button on the "Do you want to save your changes" prompt, the Excel Addin doesn't work correctly afterwards (#8108) o Workaround: in this scenario, close and re-open Excel * In the Subset Editor, when using variables for the Slice Operators of Dfilter, the variable values aren't handled properly (#8016) * When closing Modeller window via X-Button while an element is being consolidated, Modeller will not display dimension elements afterwards until restarting Excel (#9832) ---------------------------- 3. Palo Web * Worksheet Elements (Charts, imanges, Form elements) will not be moved if a Row / Column is dynamically hidden (#4794) * Selection of multiple, disjointed cells / cell ranges is not possible (#5956) * Usage of PALO.DATAV is experimental. Please rather use PALO.DATA. * Copy/fill does not trigger scrolling (#3250) * Import and Export of/to .xlsx Files does not cover all Workbook content (e.g. Form elements, Charts). * Values from MySQL functions are always treated as strings (#7881) o workaround: convert values with the VALUE function, use SUBSTITUTE function if necessary to change delimiter characters. * PALO.DATA formulas that have a cell reference pointing to an empty cell will return 0 instead of an error (#8071) * Setting a line break in a cell is only possible on Palo string cells, not on normal cells (#6026) * Cursor jumps to first position when editing formula in IE8 (#8384) * In Chrome, there sometimes are display issues with menues and context menues (#7687, #8138) * The checkboxes in Security properties dialogue don't work when using style "Slate" (#9129) * Transfer of values in Hyperlinks doesn't work correctly if Hyperlink is capsulated in another formula, e.g. IF (#8654) * Widgets pointing directly to Flash animations cannot be edited after creation (#9804) * Ressource-workbook links to workbooks below in the file tree are not created correctly (#9947) ---------------------------- 4. Palo ETL Server * After an Update, the ETL-Manager may not be showing any server in the left-hand-side hierarchy. o Workaround: Please make sure, that you delete the Browser's Cache and Cookies before first accessing ETL-Manager after an Update * Switching themes does not work yet. When opening ETL Manager, it will always revert to default theme. (#5377) * Since the Microsoft Access Driver is not "thread-safe", it is not possible to access Microsoft Access databases in parallel (e.g. two Data previews from different users at the same time) * Some ODBC connections do not work correctly on a 64-bit Windows OS if a 64-bit Java Runtime Environment (JRE) is installed o Workaround 1: If there is a JDBC driver available for the relational database try to use the particular connection type (e.g. mysql, sqlserver) or the connection type GenericDB. o Workaround 2: Install a 32-bit Java Runtime Environment, remove the Tomcat Service, replace paloTomcat6.exe with paloTomcat6_32.exe, set the JAVA_HOME environment variable to point to this JRE, install and restart the Tomcat Service. o Workaround 3: If no 32-bit Microsoft Office is installed, you can use a 64-bit ODBC driver for the connection (For MS Access the Database Engine 64-bit has to be downloaded from Microsoft) * In the User Manager, the Object permission "read only" is not available for the ETL Manager. "Using "Read only" will also grant write-permissions on the ETL-Manager panel. (#5795) * ETL Server / Java API is not able to handle required SSL encryption of Palo OLAP Server correctly (#7261) * The ETL-Manager has display problems in browser Chrome (#8919). * Conflict with ESET NOD32 Antivirus: ETL Cube-Load creates long HTTP-Request to Palo OLAP Server which are cut by the Antivirus checking. This may lead to Error "Failed to load Cube ...: 0" o Workaround 1: Disable the HTTP checking in NOD32 (In advanced program setup -> Antivirus and antispyware -> Web access protection -> HTTP, HTTPS) o Workaround 2: Reduce the Bulk-Size of the Cube-Load to 100 in file .\tomcat\webapps\etlserver\config\standard\component.xml and Restart the PaloTomcatService. This reduces the performance of the Cube-Load ---------------------------- 5. Palo Supervision Server * No known issues ---------------------------- 6. Palo GPU Accelerator * No known issues ---------------------------- 7. Palo 3rd Party Access (ODBO/XMLA) * "Convert to formulas" in an Excel Pivot table does not work for parallel hierarchies (#2081) o Workaround: Make sure that each dimension in your database has one distinct top-level node. ---------------------------- 8. Setup * In some cases an existing JRE-Installation (Java Runtime) is missing its Windows Registry entries, so that it can't be detected by the Palo Suite Setup. o Add these 2 entries in the Windows Registry manually: * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.6 NAME=JavaHome TYPE=REG_SZ VALUE= (standard: C:\Program Files\Java\jre6) * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Plug-in\1.6.0_20 NAME=JavaHome TYPE=REG_SZ VALUE= (standard: C:\Program Files\Java\jre6) o Start the Setup again * Linux: if different Apache port is chosen during setup, UB_PORT setting in config.php is not adjusted correctly (#9165) ---------------------------- 9.
