As part of a master's thesis, in collaboration with the University of Paderborn, Fujitsu's product management division tested the idea of bottom-up BI approach. The premise was to reach large scale optimization in reporting in Excel with as little effort as possible. The outcome was that an open source BI prototype based on Jedox OLAP server was implemented for Fujitsu.
“With Jedox, we have significantly reduced the forecasting process down to two to three weeks. This gives users more time for analysis. We can now create our forecast within 24 hours and even users who are not familiar with the program are able to navigate it with ease. Employees also benefit from a better method for forecasting and planning, giving employees more time to focus on their core tasks.” Karl Nixon, CFO BSA Ltd.
As a direct consequence of the crisis it was the IT department of Royal Nooteboom Trailers that took responsibility. The old way of reporting, analyzing and reporting did not offer Nooteboom the required insight and information to drive their business through these turbulent times. At the Royal Nooteboom Group now about 30 people use Jedox. Some users get informed by the batch PDF reports that they receive in their inbox every monday morning. The reports are designed to meet their needs and/or what they are allowed to see.
Jedox and its partner Celcus provided BAM Woningbouw a BI/CPM platform which enables Integrated Reporting. “We now use the system for our project portfolio management, financial consolidation, business balances scorecard dashboard and overall reporting. It enables us to link our strategy with our operations in the regions”, says Korstiaan Rietveld, financial director at BAM Woningbouw which belongs to BAM Group - a succesful European construction group with 1,500 employees.
Flexible creation of ad-hoc reports using the Jedox Excel integration, Simplicity of publishing reports online, user-friendly data cube modeling, Interface with SAP BW via the Jedox ETL server, High performance, fast queries - These were important points which were realized with the Jedox implementation.
