Enterprise Spreadsheets:
Benefits at a glance
Consistent Data for The Enterprise
The data contained in Enterprise Spreadsheets is linked to a single, central data storage server. All data inputs are centrally managed and automatically updated in all Enterprise Spreadsheets containing a reference to the data being entered.
Data Gathering and Reporting simultaneously in Excel and in the Web
Enterprise Spreadsheets are available both in Microsoft Excel and as a Web application. So there is no need to develop separate Web solutions if you want people to view or update data online in the web browser. Data that is modified in Excel is immediately visible in the web application and vice versa. Using industry standard user authentication, the enterprise spreadsheet can be securely accessed from anywhere via an organizations intranet, or worldwide the internet.
Automatic Consolidation of Spreadsheet Data
Enterprise Spreadsheets are based on one company-wide data model. Therefore, other than with single user spreadsheets, all data which multiple users contribute regarding different projects, cost centers, sales regions or subsidiaries can now be consolidated automatically to sub-totals and company totals.
Spreadsheet Compliance & Process Control.
Enterprise Spreadsheets contain internal mechanisms which can be used to validate inputs as well as the calculations resulting from these inputs which contribute to regulatory compliance (SOX Compliance). In addition to defining central workflow processes, Enterprise Spreadsheets can be used to easily and quickly implement these processes.
Business Intelligence & Corporate Planning
Enterprise Spreadsheets are an ideal tool to address Business Intelligence data analysis needs. The central data server is fully compatible with MOLAP principles and offers real-time consolidation and advanced functions to address both top-down and bottom-up business planning.
Ad hoc development of business applications
With Enterprise Spreadsheets, professional Intranet and Internet applications can be developed within a short time frame, and you do not need any programming skills.
SAP, Web Services and Database Connectivity
Enterprise Spreadsheets can use web services to connect to service-oriented architectures. Direct interfaces are available for SAP as well as many industry-standard databases including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, IBM DB2 and MySQL.
