Palo Worksheet Server

Palo Worksheet Server is part of the Palo Open Source Business Intelligence suite and transforms Microsoft Excel spreadsheets into server-based web applications (Excel-to-Web), allowing Excel spreadsheets to be accessed via a web browser. In this way, Enterprise Spreadsheets can be accessed via your corporate intranet or the internet without the need for a locally installed copy of Microsoft Excel.

Modeling Web-application by building Spreadsheet

Worksheet Server uses Excel as a tool for modeling enterprise-wide Web applications. The modeling of business logic is done using Excel based features and formulas. Worksheet Server allows business users to develop and deploy web applications from within the Excel environment, with the users of these applications accessing these applications via a web browser (no local installation of Excel required by users).

Data Viewing, Gathering and Reporting Via The Web

Worksheet Server applications make it possible to supply and gather data over a web browser (without ActiveX controls or Java applets). These applications can be used by users concurrently to view and manipulate the same dataset at the same time.

Short “Time-to-Solution“

Worksheet Server is an ideal system for developing and implementing Ad-Hoc enterprise-wide web applications. By leveraging existing staff spreadsheet skills, Worksheet Server eliminates the need for specialized web application development skills and traditional coding and programming experience.

Database and SAP interfaces, PDF Generation, SSL and PHP

When developing Worksheet Server applications in the Excel environment, a variety of extended worksheet functions exist. These include functions to link the Worksheet Server application on-line to relational and multi-dimensional databases and/or SAP systems (RFC/BAPI/ESA). Worksheet Server supports SSL. Worksheet Server also includes PDF generation capabilities. In addition, the functionality of Worksheet Server applications can be enhanced by incorporating custom PHP code.
