Introduction

The Palo ETL Server enables the extraction of data from heterogeneous sources as well as the transformation and the loading of master and transaction data into Palo models. With the help of the Palo ETL Server, a flexible data import can be executed - straightforward and fully automated.

All common relational databases are suitable source systems and can be connected to via a standardised interface. Even complex transformations and aggregations can be modelled with Palo ETL Server.

Focus on OLAP & PALO

Unlike other ETL tools, the Palo ETL Server has been tailored to the requirements of Palo. Palo OLAP Server is supported and highly performant as both source and target system. The handling of cubes, levels, attributes and weights is straightforward and makes the conversion from relational model to OLAP model simple and efficient.

ETL and „Drill-Through“

The integration is not limited to the mere data import of an ETL process: the reverse direction, i.e. the „Drill-Through“ from Palo into the source systems is supported as well. It allows for the source data to be displayed at a high detail level and with that, provides an answer to the frequently asked question about the data’s origin.

Client-Server-Architecture

Palo ETL Server is based on a platform-independent Client-Server architecture offering high scalability and multi-user ability. More information can be found under Features.

Extensibility

Palo ETL Server is easily extendable to meet customer specifications. Complex transformations that exceed the capabilities offered by standard transformations can be implemented directly in Java.

More integration options, such as the connectivity with SAP systems, are scheduled for 2008.
