Import via .xls (ODBC) - what is my failure?

Hi,

how do I import data from.xls?

I tried to do that and I
get a failure: Not able to read from data base Error 42S02 Microsoft ODBC Excel
driver. The Jet database module wasn’t able to find the object “Tabelle1”. Does
the object exist? Did you enter the right name?

The Error:

The excel file where I run
Palo:

The excel file where I try
to import from:

I already set the import
file as a new data source:

The excel file where I type
in the PALO.SETDATA code:

The Sql code from the data
assistant:

I saved all excel files in
a new folder inside the database I am operating in. However no sheet or cell
refers to the Excel file with the Sql code... I don't know if if have to type
in the PALO.SETDATA in a particular cell. Can anybody help me with the
failure?

I have never tried it like this ...

When I try it does not work: architecture mismatch on my system (Win7 64Bit, XLS-ODBC 32 Bit)

What works (and I _always_ do this):
import a text-file

you can save your import-data (from Excel) as text or csv - then the import will work

Ah ok,

thank you for the response.
We have the same assumtion regarding the mismatch. Maybe we try it on a XP platform later this week and post if we are successful.
So far we imported via .csv.

If anyone knows the solution how to import the xls directly on Win7 - please let us know.

regards
