Advantage ODBC (Sybase)

Hi everyone!

I'm desperately trying to get relational extracts from an odbc-connection I've set up in ETL-Manager.
The odbc-connection uses a 32bit driver (Advantage ODBC Driver 9.10) from iAnywhere Solutions to connect to a Sybase database. PaloSuitePremium 3.1 is installed on a 64bit WinServer 2008R2.

Setup of System-DSN and setup of connection in ETL-Manager works fine (well, at least the testbutton says everything's fine).

The problem starts, when I try to set up an extract (relational). Well, one can not do much here, eh? Just fill in the connection an press test or preview and whenever I do this, I get the following error-message:
[iAnywhere Solutions][Advantage ODBC Driver]Option value changed".
Filling in SQL-statements doesn't help either.

On the other hand I can use the set up System-DSN to connect to the data tables via MS Access, so the actual ODBC-Setup seem to be working.

Any hint is appreciated!

Thanks,

David

RE: Advantage ODBC (Sybase)

maybe this helps:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942976/en-us

could you report back please?

I am successfully talking from a 32bit ETL-server on Windows XP and Linux via JDBC (genericDB) to the RDBMS EXASOL on 64bit Linux. Maybe JDBC is an option for you.

I'm too having my problems on 64-bit Linux, trying to use OpenOffice Addin on the client side (nogo) and trying to talk from ETL-client to another ETL-server: just silence, no error, no data ...

RE: Advantage ODBC (Sybase)

... unfortunately this doesn't apply to my problem since I was already using the 32bit ODBC Administrator tool.
Thanks anyway!

RE: Advantage ODBC (Sybase)

Hello,

I have the same problem (ADS with ODBC). The ODBC-Connection works fine with MS-Query. The connection in the ETL-Server seems to be ok (Test works).
The error occurs while trying to start a SQL-Query (Query is correct).
"Option value changed"

Did you find a solution or do you still have the problem?

Regards
Gonzo

Even on 64-bit machine, when using 32-bit ODBC, one should use 32-bit java (which means also 32-bit Tomcat). 32-bit tomcat differs from 64-bit tomcat in only the palotomcat6.exe.

32-bit palotomcat6.exe is 56 KB
64-bit palotomcat6.exe is 72 KB

32-bit palotomcat6.exe can be copied from 32-bit installation of palosuite.

Regards,

Kais
