No context menu available when inserting new elements to a dimension

Hello,

I try to set-up my first database and cube with Palo Version 3.0 (build 3934) under MS Office Excel 2003 SP3.

Following the steps in the Palo Manual under 5.5 Copying and Inserting elements at page 90 & 91 I realize that I don't get the context menu displayed to use the "Paste elements" function.

I have copied a complete structure from an excel spreadsheet with right mouse click and copy - I open the Modeller - choose the respective dimension, select any element - do right mouse click and nothing happens. No context menu appears, as I would expect it.

Do I do something wrong, or is some setting missing ...?

Any help or hint is highly appreciated.

kind regards

Dirk

You do it by the manual - should work like you try it.

What happens when you just paste via CTRL-V ?

The context menu is still valuable when you have to convert numerical elements into string elements ...

Hi

yes, the Palo context menu should work, I agree, but unfortunately it does not.

thanks for the input, Ctrl-V works , but obviously only for a small number of records.

My issue is that I want to fill a dimension with 282 base elements (which is no problem) and a lot of Consolidated elements. The complete structure for this dimension is roughly 1700 rows in Excel long. If I copy and paste it with Crtl-C and Crtl-V it only takes the first two consolidated elements and the rest is ignored.

So for me the question is, how to set-up a complex dimension without entering everything manually ?

Kind regards

I had the same problem, but only if the target dimension was already populated. In that case, the context menu only appears after single-left-clicking on one of the existing elements first.

In case of empty dimension window. To set focus on the element window, how about clicking in the left "window" or on the default entry and then right cklick? This helped in my case.
