Restricting data input to specific cells

Hi all,

I'm new to Palo, so the question might be trivial...

I would like to prevent users from entering data to some dimensions. Specifically, I have a projects dimension, but I want specific costs to be entered for a specific project. I do not want people to enter data to "All Projects".

Dimension looks like this:

All Projects
Project1
Project2

Can this be done with rules or some other way?
I know this can be done through the view configuration, but this is not enough for me.

Thanks!

RE: Restricting data input to specific cells

Hi,
this can be done by Elements Rights in the resp. Dimension. Click on paste view and choose the "Userrights" icon. Then paste a view for cube '_GROUP_DIMENSION_DATA_Products". Now you can restrict write rights by setting an R for let's say all none admin groups. See manual for details. It's worth the 30€.

I attached an exmample screenshot of such a view.

Hope that helps.

Holger

Thanks

Thanks,

This is exactly what I needed.

On the manual suggestion, I totally agree. I bought it and am getting ready for some weekend reading.
