Palo V3

Is the new white and blue corporate forum colour a celebration of the release of V3? (He asked hopefully..)
Best wishes

I won't (can't) give you an exact day, but we're in the final stages of testing it. It will be out in April, very probably in early April.

That's really nice to hear. Thank you for the update.

May I dare ask if on the server side, the final version will have real differences with the server beta version 3.0? Or it's "only" gonna be improvments or fixes concerning stability and maybe speed?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "real" differences, but indeed stability and further increases in performance have been the main issues.

The download links for the new V3 downloads :D :D :D seem to be broken :( :( :(

You input all your details but it returns an error message. [edit - Now sorted - thanks Jedox]

It would also be great to only have to enter details one and select which d/ls you want rather than having to enter them for each download.

Are there any release notes for the new version?

"Palo Excel Add-in Changelog

Version 3.0-3793 2009/03/31 19:24:10
---------------------------
-Addin : Full support for Excel 2007 XLL SDK
-Server: Latest server binary""

Doesn't really tell us much about what has happened to the product in between 2.5 and 3.0.

For dominik:

Sorry if the expression was vague. By real differences I meant new features, new way of doing things, new Interface.

Which seems not to be the case, since like Pommie said If it was not for the version number I would not be able to tell which version is which.

Actually until now I saw a difference but unfortunately not in the good way.
Previously I had posted on some issue with the use of datac in reports containing a lot of rules. Part of the cells returned 0 like if the calculation stopped in the middle and only a portion of the cells were calculated.
I had to use palo.data instead to overcome the problem.

I used add-in 2.5 with beta version 3.0 of the server.

WIth the new 3.0 add-in and server I'm having the same problem I had with datac but now also with palo.data.
Which means I cannot get all the cells of the report calculated accurately. Some stays desperately equal to 0.
Disabling the rule-cache (rule-cache-size 0) in the ini file has no effect.

Can you reproduce that issue on the Demo database?
If so (or if not as well), please create a ticket in our bug tracker: http://bugs.palo.net
In the ticket, please describe some of the rules used and your sheet; if possible, attach a testsheet.

OK I will create the ticket asap first trying as you suggest to reproduce it with demo db.

For information I uninstalled completly PALO, reinstalled new add-in version 3.0 but with old beta 3.0 version of the server and it works again.

Yes, that's not a lot of details. I don't even know if this one is 64-bit capable or not.
Any idea?
