RE: WorkSheet Server 3

Marc,

They are both bugs. I believe they have been logged with the Palo guys. This was posted in other forums.

Hello,
It's a beta version for the moment, I think that it's normal, you can look for here : http://bugs.palo.net/mantis/my_view_page.php, I believe that I have seen something about that.
FYI on my pc I have the same problem.

Is a stable version of the WSS available?

I searched the archive but couldn't find anything.
Thanks,

If I don't say a error the version CE isn't a stable version, look the jedox site it's indicated, the modul "Worksheet Server 3" is in beta. The enterprise version use the modul Worksheet Server 2" for the moment.

Isn't the enterprise version limited for up to 30 days testing? I need more than 30 days.

Isn't a older version of BI Suite available?

Yes it's a version limited

Jedox has just published the version CE two month ago, there isn't older version CE.
But the version CE is ok, and in few month you could update.

I think if you want use it for a important project you should buy the version enterprise, the price is not very expensive, it depend number of connection but for few users (less of 20) I beleive it's less of 15KE, contact jedox.

Personnally I use palo with excel since more 2 years on my pc in local and it's a good solution, easy and quickly to learn.

With palo with excel (ad in) you aren't able to publish it on the web like the WSS 3.0 does?

You can convert the file in a normal excel sheet where the Palo formula are transformed in value and published on your server but you can't change the sheet on the web, it will be static page.

I don't understand why you don't use the version CE of WSS 3 ? There is few little problem and every function are not available again but it's better than nothing

I'll try the WSS 3. But as I have read that a few problems are present I want to figure out what experience other users can report.
Thanks,

Berndo, I'd advice you to read the FAQ of Palo and learn something about the basic functions. Afterwards you could try out the WSS 3.0.

That's - in my opinion - the best way to get a basic knowledge about PALO-Software.

//
Concerning the price of WSS 3.0: I think right now it's for free, so take your time and try it out. In September the first "real version" of WSS 3.0 will be released.
In my eyes WSS 3.0 will be the future, because Data-Sheets will be accesible from all workplaces without the need of seperate Installations of PALO-ExcelAddIn

I'm doing it at the moment. It looks really cool. ;)

But what do you mean with FAQ? I know FAQs but could only find the first part of the Palo manual.

Is there a whitepaper available with an overview of the Palo technology and specification?
Thanks,
berndo

There is a 400 page German PALO manual. You'd have to pay for it :( I'm sorry. The 20€ are a good investment.

Any idea when the fix for XLS import in WSS 3 will be available in CE version?

Thanks!
