using access-database with etlserver

Hello,

I have to work with the etl server and the palo-server excel-addin.
It is my first projekt with this software and I have to do it for the university ;-)

I have already read the etl-manual and googled a lot but I can not solve my problem.

I have to load an access-database up onto the etlserver but I can't get though.
I have already built up an ODBC-connection and the server is running.

Is it possible to load a whole database with its tables onto the etl server?
How could I do that?

Hi,

you don't load anything on the ETL-Server, you can only use it together with the Palo OLAP Server. The ETL-Server is just for the ETL (Extract - Transform - Load) not to store data.
I think there are some examples when you install ETL Server and Palo OLAP Server, maybe even with an Access file. You could also try to use the import assistant that comes with the Excel add-in.

Hi,

did you read the manual already? Some parts of it are free.

English Version: http://worksheetserver.com/download/pdf/…ual_Excerpt.pdf

German Version: http://worksheetserver.com/download/pdf/…buch_Auszug.pdf

The free chapters explain the main structure of Palo and how it works. Using the import assistant (in the Excel Addin) you can import files from csv and txt files and also from odbc connection.

There is also a manual available for the ETL-Server if you want to use it for importing: http://www.jedox.de/en/products/palo_etl…r/download.html
