Problems with Palo 2.5 and Excel 2007
Hi,
after installing Palo 2.5 I managed to to see the PALO AddIn in the Excel Menu. Unfortunately it is not working. Nothing happens if I click on Modeler, Past View, ...
Only the Internet -Links (wikipalo, ...) are working.
Is there any idea what I can do?
I am also wondering that I have to click "OK" twice when I start the Palo AddIn.
Thanks
Dirk
Please read the message on the Palo AddIn screen before you click "OK". If it says that the xll could not be loaded you need to install the "Visual Basic for Applications" located in "Office Shared Features" of the Office Setup.
Thanks Enno, I did not realize that there were an error message. It just looked like a general Palo information.
I had already installed the "Visual basic for applications". So this is not the reason.
The error message is as follows: "Fehler beim Laden der XLL-Datei! Mögliche Ursache: Die XLL_Datei wurde verschoben oder gelöscht. (Suchpfad c:\program files\jedox\palo\palo.xll). ..."
But the file is there. My folder is called "Programme" instead of "Program Files" but this seems to be the same.
As I tryed to start the Palo.xll directly, I got the following error mesage: "Sie versuchen eine Datei zu öffnen, 'Palo.xll', deren Format von dem in der Dateierweiterung angegebenen abweicht. ..."
Are there any other ideas?
Thanks Dirk
Take a look at your "windows\system32\" directory and look for a file named msvcr71.dll. This file gets usally installed by Microsoft and is needed by the Excel Addin. If you cannot find this file you may download it from
http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?msvcr71
best regards
Enno
That's the solution. Now it works.
Thank you.
Dirk
Hi,
same Problem with Excel 2000, Solution is working too.
The only thing was, it was not working directly, after downloading the dll I did following:
1. Uninstalled Palo
2. Reboot
3. Installing Palo
4. Rebooting
5. Party
