ETL Connection to SQL Server with named instance

Hallo,

I'm trying to set up a connection from ETL Server (Palo Suite 3.3 SR1 Build 3.3.0.6028 ) to Microsoft SQL 2005 Server with a named Instance. The default Connection works fine.

If the SQL DB is in a named instance of the MS SQL2005 Server the ETL - Connectiontest is Running forever or just won't work. I tried almost everything,

Hostname = Hostname / Instancename --> Error Connection

  • Port = Instancename --> Error Connection
  • Port = SQL Port --> Test ist running forever > 10 minutes
  • Additional Parameter --> instance = namend instance

Any ideas ?

Thanks for your Help

Thomas

This is a Known-Issue due to a bug in the JRE:

  • Workaround: Install another version of the JRE e.g. JRE 6.25:

Btw. you can address different instances directly by using the respective port instead of the instance name.

Regards.
