No Ribbon in Excel 2007

Hello everybody,

I installed Palo some time ago. The server seems to work fine; localhost:7777 is responding. However, I fail to see the Palo Ribbon on Excel 2007. I uninstalled Palo and installed it again.

No cigar.

Does anybody have an idea what to do next?

Thank you very much!

Rainer

RE: No Ribbon in Excel 2007

I almost always have to restart Excel two times in order for the ribbon to show up. Otherwise, it's in add-ins.

Do you see the dropdown menu in "Addins"?
What version of Palo did you install?
Is Excel 2007 the only Excel version on this Machine?

Hello

I face the same problem this morning. Maybe you must activate palo by clicking on the icone "palo".

If so, you can try changing the start up behaviour of the Addin in the Start Menu of Windows: All Programs => Palo => Palo settings
It might be set to "Manual Start with Palo Link" instead of "Start automatically with Excel".

Hello,
I have the same (small) problem. Proposed setting does not help. Palo stays in Addons menu only.

click on Office Button->Excel Options->Add-Ins->Disabled Items

Probably the Excel 2007 Ribbon Support for Palo Add-in is deactivated.
Click on the "go.." button, the and activate the Ribbon Support (on the next popup window). Restart Excel.
Should work now.

Had this issue several times. Happens normally after Palo Excel add-in/Ribbon Support Crashed.

RE: No Ribbon in Excel 2007

Hello
I got same problem. but...

the fist time I installed Palo V3.0 the menu 'palo' was ok. I got a menu opton palo in menubar.

but I got an other problem I posted in this forum:
http://www.jedox.com/community/palo-foru…p?threadid=1950

I found no help to solve that problem so I uninstalled palo and did a completely new installation.

And now the ribbon add-in will not start anymore.
means - however I check the box for Excel 2007 'Ribbon support for Palo Add-in' in Excel -> Excel Options -> Add-ins -> go to 'COM-Add-Ins' - the menubar for palo is not started.

there is also a handicap that I have to start 'Palo Excel Add-in'-button 2 times bevor Add-in Palo will realy start.

Is there a problem with registry entries?

Please give some more help to get rid of this heavy-going problem.

thanks

RE: No Ribbon in Excel 2007

I think it is a registry problem. Try setting localbehaviour to 3 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\PaloXlAddin2007.Connect

It works for me now.

RE: No Ribbon in Excel 2007

Hi

I think I found a way to solve the problem. it will not show the reason for this problem but it was helping me:

go to excel-option -> add-ins -> select Com-Add-Ins and klick go-to.

delete the add-in "Excel 2007 Ribbon support for Palo Add-In". but!!!! remember the path which is shown at bottom edge.

Klick OK and leave excel.

Start excel again and go to Com-Add-Ins.
Add new add-in and select the PaloXIAddIn2007Shim.dll from path above.

Now leave excel again. With the next start with "Palo Excel Add-In"-button the menu will be there.

for me it worked fine. but still there is no idea for reason of this 'bug?'.

good luck

Same problem with Excel 2010 32b

I can't start Palo ribbon in Excel 2010, only icons in AddIn ribbon section are presented. Deleting and adding again "PaloXlAddinShim.dll" does not work. Complete reinstall also doesn't work.

Can you help me?

Hi,

what Palo version do you use? This is an old thread. The ribbon support has been discontinued in Palo CE 3.2.

Regards.

Hi,
did I misread tish reply? No support for ribbon from CE 3.2 on?
I can understand the "delayed release of new features" in CE, but not the same for "delete the existing features from CE"...
