Excel Add Inn does not load with Office XP and Palo 1.5 beta

I try again here. After I reported the following bug in the bug tracking system.

Quoted

0000235: Palo Menu does not appear after starting excel Add In (Palo 1.5 beta)

After loading Excel Add Inn the PALO Menu is not there. Same happen if i chose the Autostart Option in Palo Settings or try to start add in out of Excel.
(There are no deactivated elements in excel. Net 2.0 is installed. Office Updates (SP3) are installed. Palo installed with choosing all "Expert" options during installation.)

Unfortunately it was no functionallity for answering the following question in the bug tracking system:

Quoted

Did you delete the old version before installing 1.5?

Yes I did uninstall and deleted all the Jedox Folders in Programs and Eigene Dateien.

Could it have something to do with the combination of Office XP? The proposed patch (office2003-kb907417sfxcab-) is obviously no working with Office XP. But there might be the same problem.?.

RE: Excel Add Inn does not load with Office XP and Palo 1.5 beta

I solved it. :)

There are 3 office patches for MS Office in the PALO 1.5 beta installation. At least one of them (office2003-kb907417sfxcab) is normally for office 2003.
Thease patches should normally solve the problem with loading of the add in. But there is probably an issue with the installation sequence. That means the patches should be installed first:

I did the following:
1. Uninstalled Palo 1.5
2. Installed the patches (using "/quiet" for the kb907417)
3. Installed palo 1.5 again

Now it is working.

Regards
Dirk
