Palo 64 bit

Dear Jedox developers,
When can we expect a 64-bit version of Palo 3.2 to be released? cause the 32-bit version of Palo works slower on 64 bit PCs.

64bit binary is contained in the premium all in one setup. Setup will automatically install those binaries if the target platform is 64 bit.

We don't have resources for this at the moment, but I guess someone from the community could help, i.e. build it and provide the download.

Well, then how can you explain the presence of the C:\Program Files (x86)\Jedox\Palo Suite folder on a 64bit system (windows server 2008 standart r2? i did a test "etl job cube copy" in a 32-bit version, it took 22 minutes while on a 64-bit version it takes 40 min.

Setup itself is 32bit. Like I wrote before, if your system is 64bit, setup will install 64bit version of some of the components(in 3.2 not all components are 64bit, this willl be improved in 3.3), including using 64bit version of Java for ETL(if this is the default on your system).
Aside from the fact that under 64bit memory consumption is higher(due to bigger size of most types - usually double the size of same type on 32bit), I would say your longer running job is a bug and you should post it under http://bugs.palo.net/mantis/public/ for furtther investigation.

Hi there.

Which of the components are 64 bit in the premium version?

We are experiencing some trouble with 3.2 CE on a 64 bit Debian, because the memory allocated by the palo process grows > 4GB and start-up stops at that point. It's only two databases and three cubes.
Thus, we decided to install the 30 days trial of 3.2 PE which resulted in the same error at start-up.
That's why I'm doubting whether the premium version would help avoid the problem of memory limitation. Maybe the data is too large for Palo - two cubes of approx. 6 million and one of 20 million cells and 10-15 dimensions. Can anyone help?

Best regards, Michael

Palo Suite 3.2 Windows version includes 32 and 64 bit olap server, the Llinux package contains only 32 bit binary. 64 bit olap binary is available for customers on request.
