Palo for Excel and Pivot

I'm new in Palo and have a basic question.
what is the functional difference between Palo and Pivot in Excel..

Palo is a database management system - pivot is a view on data (maybe from a DBMS)

the spreadsheets addins have some more functions than pivot (e.g. ragged dimensions, subsets, ...)

using spreadsheets addins you can WRITE to your database

with Palo Suite you have a kind of "multi user spreadsheet" over the web (NO installation on clients needed)
