Configuring Palo Excel and Web
Hi,
Our firm is deploying an implementation of PALO whereby the plan is.
- Csv data from financial system is Uploaded to PALO using PALO excel import wizard.
- PALO excel is used by client managers to review their quarterly reports and once they are confirmed ready,
- The reports are published online with PALO web to give client option to PDF, or can be reviewed remotely by other staff.
The default connection for PALO Web to the OLAP server is on Port 7921. In order to link to the same server for Excel we added a connection to Port 7777 on the PALO Web configuration files to link directly to the cubes the managers have worked on.
We have not yet designed the system. Is this the clean way to do this?
Regards,
Rhossis

RE: Configuring Palo Excel and Web
Hello rhossis,
since PALO 3.2 there is only one single MOLAP-Server and therefore only Port 7777 is in use.

Hi Buettner,
Thanks, we are planning to use the community version 3.1 initially. We installed Palo Intergrated Server after installing Palo for Excel.
Regards,
Cyril

Hi Cyril,
did you succeed ?
I installed Suite 3.1 and have web access from a client pc to server by server-IP and port 8081.
But the palo excel client 3.0 on the client pc cannot reach the olap server by server-IP and port 7921 as I understand the setup manual. In the manual is mentionned to change the ini file settings but it doesn't work.
What are your experiences ?
regards
Axel
Hi,
how does your palo.ini look like?
with http "127.0.0.1" 7921 you can only access Palo Molap Server from the server. Try http "" 7921 instead.
Regards.
Thanks for reply,
after restarting all services the excel clients reached all server molap.
