Access to HSQLDB used by ETL Server

I have tried to connect to the HSQLDB with an external tool; but I just do not get the right connection. I am using dbvisualizer and tried the HSQLDB server driver.

My idea is to set-up some tables in a custom HSQLDB and load data to the tables I have defined. Similar to the Biker demo.

Help is very much appreciated.
Kind regards,

Arthur van den Berg

you should use HSQLDB embedded driver instead of the server driver and you probably won't be able to connect to the database via dbvisualizer while tomcat is running.
I never tried to connect to the HSQLDB, but use the embedded Derby database on a regular basis.
