RE: Excel 2010 64bit

Hi Europe,
This week I tested the final version of Office 2010 x64, but I could not find a way to activate Palo Excel Addin in Excel. Starter.exe does not work. In Office 2010 x32 functioned without problems.

We have tried Palo on several machines with 64 bit Excel 10 and it fails every time. Any ideas?

Unfortunately this didn't end up in 3.2. Supporting 64bit Excel means for us, that we have to port all our components to 64bit(all client libraries and addins). We are working on this. I still can't tell when this will happen since we are experiencing some "external" (compiler) issues. These have to be resolved first before we can continue our work.

Hi Vladislav

Is there any update on this issue yet? Also, will the community version of the Excel client include the fix when it is made or will we have to wait for it to catch up? One of my clients have just upgraded to 64bit Excel 2010 and are not happy!

Thanks in advance

Excel 2010 64bit

Hi Vladislav

I noticed in the links you provided that a solution is on the way from Microsoft and a temporary fix is possible. Can you provide a timeline for when a version will be available to the community that will work in 64bit Excel 2010?

Thanks in advance

Support for x64 version of Excel will be added as of 3.3, so not before Q4 2011.

Thanks for confirming that Vladislav. One last question.

Does this mean that the community edition of Palo will not be able to work on 64bit Excel 2010 till one year later (min Q4 2012!)?

Or will a patch be made available?

Kind regards

Any updates regarding this problem?
What is the schedule for a Palo version supporting Excel 2010 64 bit?
Is there any patch?
Would some money help to have this fixed? How much would it be?
Best regards.
Best regards,
Paco

I would donate to bring 64bit support to the community edition. In fact that goes for community edition features in general.
