Data import using sample metadataimport.xls
I was trying to import data as mentioned in the palo_for_excel_advance pdf under Importing elements section. I created the cube with dimensions as described in the sample and then used the metadataimport.xls to import the data to the cube. I see the data in the excel during the import but then elements don't show up in the dimensions- Time, Costcenter or Region. I'm using Excel 2007 on xp. Any insights would be very helpful.

where did you find the xls document? Can you post it here? Maybe together with your database, that will make it easier to see what the problem is.

Thanks for the help, Holger. I found the xls files from the jedox sample (refer section 2.2.1.4 Importing elements from the palo_for_excel_advanced_topics.pdf document). It can be found under C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Jedox\Palo directory.
I'm attaching the element file and the excel file for data import any way.

are you sure your database is named "Demo1" and the dimensions read exactly Time, Costcenter and Region? Should work in that case. Do you see any error messages during the import? For the second line, your screen should look like in the attached screenshot.

Thanks. I reinstalled the Palo excel premium version and it's working now. I've no idea what was the issue. I had a community version of excel, and web then I installed premium version. That's the only thing I can think of.
